Is The Government Complicit In Dropping Boxes Of Guns Into Your Community?

By: Nathaniel Williams

The impetus behind writing this came from a Facebook post my friend’s mother made. That friend, Christopher Camper, was brutally gunned down on the streets of Oxnard, California in 2016. His murder was one in a litany of homicides that has plagued the city, and it is only getting worse. Its getting worse is what actually drove his mother to post on social media. She wrote:

Does anyone, besides me, wonder where all the guns are coming from?

Virtually every inner city in America has its urban legend of how someone happened upon an unlocked railcar containing enough guns and ammunition to arm a small insurgency.

The story goes:

“The homie (insert your favorite stereotypical thug name) found hella guns in an abandoned cargo cart on a train in the back of the hood.”

I always found it strange that most inner city neighborhoods seemed to be strategically placed near train tracks, as if this would be the staging ground for a reenactment of the policies enforced during Hitler’s reign. While in power, Adolph Hitler emptied Jewish ghettos by loading unsuspecting citizens into trains destined for concentration camps. There awaited them the fate of gas chambers and furnaces. Little did we know, this is exactly what was taking place; it just took on a different shape.

Since the 1945-46 Nuremberg trials post-Holocaust, blatant genocide by one group against another, particularly the powerful against the powerless, has faced sharp criticism. Those who wished to oppress a minority had to find different ways to achieve their nefarious ends.

In America, the power elite has always found ways to persuade its national minorities to take part in their own destruction. They offer and we accept, but fail to see the strings attached – from blankets with smallpox to crack cocaine.

However, nothing is as bold and sinister as is what plagues us today in 2017. We’re not even talking about the all too well-known practice of “gun walking,” where government agents allow shipments of guns to be “walked” across the border into Mexico (and other 3rd world nations) into the hands of the cartels and war lords, in order to track the crimes committed with these weapons. (allowing them to build a case for some unknown rereason).

What we’re talking about here is the reported practice of suspected government agencies/agents leaving caches of heavy artillery on board “abandoned” trains and in alleys to be uncovered by “criminals” in our inner cities.

According to reports, Chicago had 4,368 reported shootings and the nation’s highest murder rate at 300 in 2016. In an article entitled Gang members implicate U. S. Gov’t in dumping crates of guns in Chicago, Isaac Davis writes:

In a publicly available video testimony, an ex Chicago gang member describes how crates of fully automatic firearms would regularly be found in alleyways and back streets of urban Chicago at the early hours.

He refers to it as a diabolical plot, a plan affecting only low-income areas, pointing out that many of the firearms being found were class-3 automatic firearms, which can only be purchased under intense federal scrutiny. He notes that criminals aren’t allowed to buy firearm, and yet guns are everywhere.  So where are they coming from?

Public discourse always seems to center around the petty criminal and his actions, which are not to be discounted. We are not exonerating those who commit crime. Every action has a reaction and consequence, and those who commit crime should be held accountable for their actions. The discussion about the responsibility of those in the inner city, particularly those classified as “Criminals”, will be discussed at length in a later piece.

This discussion however, is to bring this problem to your attention and to ask the pertinent question: shouldn’t everyone be held accountable for the crimes they commit, even if they are connected to the U.S. government?

  1. Intriguing idea. I can’t say much; here in Canada we have strict gun control laws. But you’re suggesting some govt agency is dropping these off. Might it not also be some other agency or unofficial organization. For example the KKK?
Well, I saw your blog listed and hopped over from First Friday, since your post title was appealing. 🙂
    All the best.

    1. Thank you so much Christine. I am extremely new to this…😃…to answer your question about it possibly being some other agency or unofficial organization, I would say that’s definitely possible but the trail leads elsewhere…I will be delving into this in my next post…again, thank you tremendously….
